Morning Walk
Mountains wear a veil
of fog, white onyx belly
of clouds envelop red
scarlet treetops seen
yesterday. Eyes search
for blue jays heard,
wings up above have
found a heaven. Each step
a lifted prayer, an echo of peace
in a dome of white, gray, silver.
Following the songbirds
feet walk the path, knowing,
trusting in a shared journey, till
periwinkle sky appears.
