God's Song, Psalm 42:8
Long hours of grading papers multiply day by day
I labor for my kids while my heart serves the Lord
When my strength reaches a limit, He directs
My worries back to him. His
Steadfast kindness is His love
I dreamed of a shadow life when I circled aimlessly at night
But then I was still lost, I was not His
When I’m exhausted, I sometimes forget His song
Yet when I wake up early, I hear it in my heart, and so it is
At graduations, children clap His song joyfully with me
My prayer shines in lessons that I teach day by day
To be a symmetry of love,
To serve the God Who has served my people,
Of His sheep, I am a simple one.
My faith restores my life
“By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.”
Psalms 42:8 NIV

I love: "He directs my worries back to him, " and "I sometimes forget His song, yet when I wake..., I hear it in my heart." Praise the Lord!
