Confined in a Molecular Orbital

trying to write a love poem

about a guy feeling locked up on New Year’s Day

phone rings

can’t talk right now

the pen is ink-less and blank is the page

trying to write a love poem

about a guy feeling stranded today

watching TV and drinking eggnog

trying to write a love poem

about a guy feeling marooned every day

the gray sun’s about to set

silent drummer is the mind

can’t find words to bring in love

Five Loaves of Bread and Two Little Fishes

when you give away

all that you have

you’ll end up with more

than you’ve ever had before

(related Scripture: John 5: 9-13)
