Breaking of Bread

I see God in the soft wings of birds that fly

I see God in the water that floats peace's river

God is our hearts beating with life

God gives light and day

moon and sun

joy and sorrow

love and tomorrow

white doves flying with words of prayers

God gives grace with strength

to handle our mantle

to light the lantern

of hope for good days

to see faith in the future

baking the bread God gives us

so we can sing in the evening.

Lovely poem. I especially like

"to light the lantern of hope" and

"so we can sing in the evening."
