Fade to Spring
(Inspired by a painting by Ramón Chirinos.)
Shadows condense
to wide-weave lace,
grey and blooming
in the garden of clouds,
a window curtained
by icicle rain,
outside, tables wait
imagined in winter light.

They Say
They say you’re there
but I can’t see you,
they say
you’re everywhere,
I feel alone,
but I believe you;
I reach out
and you are there.

Voices in Paradise
(A “found” poem, composed of words from “Westways:
The Magazine for Auto Club Members”.)
Lost bones,
windows
for the journey.
What’s rising?
A soul,
voices in paradise,
good news.

Light Effect
Light points to my flaws,
peels my skin; there I am
exposed, forgiven.
